I just purchase Minco today and installed it on my MAC. I went through the tutorial and when I click on the Add Task button, nothing happens like the video. What am I doing wrong?

celmaroJanuary 13th, 2011 at 9:55 am

Maybe there went something wrong during database initialization.

Please try to remove the files below.

~/Library/Application Support/Minco (Directory)
~/Library/Preferences/com.celmaro.minco.plist

If you will still have problems please let me know.

You say that you can modify tasks ascross platforms syncing iCal. Using MobileMe to keep iCal up to date in University, your app will create a new iCal calendar, if so will time tracking on my Air spent in the library be synced with my iMac when I get home for daily reporting?

celmaroJanuary 18th, 2011 at 6:53 pm

Tasks will be synced with iCal and all the Applications are building on it. Work-times you record in Minco are only published to iCal as Events and don’t have a direct relation to the task. The core database of Minco is not synced on different Macs. If you want to do so you can create a symbolic link with iDisk or DropBox.
In our blog is a entry how you can do so even if it’s related to Webbla.

How can I reedit my worktime in Minco?

Currently Minco don’t offer the functionality to edit work times as it was intended as a real time logging tool.
We are working on a version which offer this functionality as it is a main request from our clients.

I really like this tool. Unfortunately sometimes when I am doing real time tracking, I forget to shut it off. When that happens the times are no longer relevant because there is no way to fix the mistake. So, I am looking forward to the version where times can be edited. When do you think it will be ready?

Give us some weeks. It’s relay the main feature request we got and we will do our best.

I’m getting the calendar not found error since the iCal mobile me “upgrade”. When I create a todo in ical, it shows up in the minco list with the correct calendar, but when I try to record time, it doesn’t show up as an event in iCal.

If I delete the “calendar” token in the preferences, it creates a new untitled calendar in the “On my Mac” group in iCal and records the event, but I can’t get any of my existing mobile me calendars to record time. Is there a fix, or will Celmaro be releasing an update?

Thanks,
Paul

It should be enough when you reenter the calendar name you would like to use from your existing calendars in the iCal adapter panel.
If this don’t work in your case send me a mail for further support.

Hi, i purchase minco yesterday and install it on my mac. I have look the screencast and when i try to make a time adjustment it doesn’t work. I can’t move the clock manually either with the buttons.
Could you give me some help please.

Thanks,
Carlos

Hi Carlos,

I think the problem is that you just stopped working on a other task.
Minco don’t allow overlapping work times so the time you can go back can be less then one minute.

For the next version it’s planned to allow work time editing which will make things more easy.

Purchased Minco recently, not sure what’s going on but can’t change the start time as shown in tutorial, and also the Revenue counter doesn’t calculate correctly based on entered hourly rate! Nice idea but if these basic things don’t work its not much of a time log program..!!? Also changing the Display Scope produces strange results that don’t seem to correspond to real logged time. When are you likely to issue an update correcting these things?

Thanks

Luke

@Luke:

Did you read my reply to Carlos just one entry over yours.

I think you have the same problem.

“… the problem is that you just stopped working on a other task.

The revenue calculation can be very complex if you make it tag depended. To help you I need some more details how the revenue should be calculated in your case. For the display scope issue you get I also need some more information. We have many long time user which should have got the same problem.

You can send me a mail at support@celmaro.com that we can discuss your problem more in detail.

@Normant:

Did you try to locate Minco with Spotlight. Normally I would expect that Minco is in your Application folder.
Feel free to send us a mail in french if it’s easier for you.

Have you ever planned to integrate minco with Omnifocus and Things? I guess that getting tasks from a GTD app and saving working times in its database could be an incredible feature to have.

celmaroMarch 30th, 2011 at 3:09 pm

Minco should work seamlessly with Things together if you activate iCal Sync in Things. I know from many happy user using the two applications together.
For OmniFocus it should be the same if you sync your tasks with iCal.

Is it possible to add internal task id to csv export or URL connections?

celmaroApril 6th, 2011 at 9:55 am

You will need a field for the task id. Currently there would be only the note field or the tags you could use. In later versions it’s planned to give an opportunity to assign different values to tags and to identify the tags in the export schemes.

Like Paul, I am getting a “calendar not found” error message after upgrading to a mobileme calendar. Please advise! Thanks, Molly

celmaroMay 4th, 2011 at 9:36 am

Hi Molly,

Like I have mentioned before it should be enough to reenter the calendar name you would like to use from your existing calendars in the iCal adapter panel.

The problem is that iCal create a new calendar with the same name for MobileMe which is not associated with the one used in Minco. When you edit the calendar field, Minco will detect and use the new calendar.

If this don’t work in your case send me a mail for further support.
